Abstract: Pleaverse is a start-up based out of Jaipur, India, that seeks to plug gaps in the Indian education system and provide coaching for new-age skills to students. They focused the design of their products on major issues such as digital literacy, critical thinking, creativity, reasoning and entrepreneurialism.
Tushar Saini and Paresh Gupta, the co-founders, were looking to expand their school incubation centre business and faced multiple challenges in hiring Head(s) of Entrepreneurship and Business, including determining job specifications and duties, recruitment and methods of selection for these candidates.
Learning Objective
The case is structured to allow participants to achieve the following objectives. For a class on entrepreneurship learning objective, one is important however for a class on HRM the first objective can be skipped.
1. Understand the business model of coaching institutes in India and the evolving market needs and demands.
2. Understand and know the process of conducting a job analysis and its role in creating job descriptions and specifications.
3. Designing a recruitment process suitable to the organizational needs and evaluating the alternatives based on appropriate decision criterion.
